With three books in line for publication, my summer has flown by way too fast.

Events
I got a last-minute table at Steel City Con, Pittsburgh’s comic con at the Monroeville Convention Center, August 7-10.
Wow, I had a great time. Meeting new readers, chatting with fellow vendors, and witnessing the fan madness for John Cena made it a fantastic experience. This Con is famous for having a very diverse roster of celebrities: movie and TV stars, wrestlers, rock stars, comedians, and authors. Something for everyone!
I will be there again at table Q11, December 4-6.
If you are in the Pittsburgh area and looking for fun and holiday gifts, come by and say hello!
P.S. I was born in Pittsburgh, and I love that city.
Current Events
I will be brief about current events this month. Another plane was diverted due to the risk of possibly being struck by space debris. This one was a U.S. Air Force transport on its way to Antarctica and had to fly back to New Zealand. This is becoming more common because all pollution eventually becomes dangerous. I will also add that I am extremely frustrated and angry about the state of our country and planet, and I’m not going downtown to see the IndyCar Freedom 250 Grand Prix.
Book Review
I am late to this party, but I loved Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver. I did a lot of driving in August, and this book made every mile enjoyable. The narrator was great. The story is about an orphan boy and his experiences, while reflecting on society and the foster system, the opioid drug epidemic, and poverty in America. Barbara Kingsolver has always been one of my favorite authors, and I consider The Poisonwood Bible one of my all-time favorite books. She is a fantastic writer, and this is a fantastic story.
I hope you all enjoy these last summer days with a great book.
I can’t express my deep gratitude to my readers enough. Thank you for sharing this fantastic adventure with me!
