It’s book two (of two) in the new series, “Before the Impact.” The publication date is October 4, 2026.
As you may have noticed, I love a cliffhanger, and my books have dramatic ones. As such, my readers may appreciate the back-to-back releases. You will only have to wait a few weeks to find out what happens to Aya, Vic, and other characters.
Like The Reason, this book is about Florida, politics, friendship, the environment, and of course, extraterrestrials. It’s about what led up to the July 14 global mass shooting, the actions taken and not taken, and conspiracies that surround most events. It takes place in the years when the impact and consequences of the Citizens United Supreme Court ruling began.

Current events
I want to skip writing about current events again this month, but I feel compelled to acknowledge some things. As a person who lives in Washington, D.C., I will say the White House cage fights, the bizarre 250th-anniversary celebration, and the continued attacks on institutions that belong to all Americans (Kennedy Center, Smithsonian Museums, Mall and reflecting pool, etc.) have been exhausting and demoralizing. The war with Iran continues. The Supreme Court has once again loosened gun regulations, space exploration continues to pollute Earth and space, and climate change is impacting hundreds of millions of people. But hey, we had the world’s biggest 40-minute fireworks show that started at midnight, so I guess that was something...
Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the rest of July. It’s so hot I hope everyone gets the chance to read a good book in the mountains, on a beach, on a boat, floating in a pool, or on their couch in the AC.

This one is great too!
It has been sweltering and sunny in D.C., except on the day of the D.C. Makers Mart. It was freezing, and it rained all day, but we still had a great time, and people came out to shop, learn crafts, and listen to panels.
It was a fun and informative panel, despite the downpour.
