I would be doing cartwheels down the street -
Hello friends,
If I could still do a cartwheel, I would be doing them down the street; I’m that excited!
The Outcome was published on October 4. It’s political and environmental and about friendship and complicated families and bravery and extraterrestrials - all the things I love! And it mostly takes place in Florida.
If you read it, please write a review. I would sincerely appreciate it.
I’m extraordinarily fortunate to be an author. I’ve had six sci-fi novels published in five years. Thank you to all my readers; I could not do this without you!

Liam the Vegan is on deck and will be published on November 4.
This children’s book has taken a different path than my other books. I am self-publishing it, and it’s been a fascinating process. My publisher, 4 Horsemen Publications, has been extremely helpful. They’ve answered numerous questions and supported me throughout. I don’t think I would have even tried if I had not been exposed to IngramSpark and Amazon rules and requirements, ISBNs, formatting, typesetting, cover, etc., when my books were traditionally published. I did not hire a company to do anything, except to check my formatting work, and that was a mistake. It complicated things that did not need to be complicated. I learned many lessons along the way, but I could not be prouder of this little book because of the process.
The only pre-order available is for the eBook version. The paperback and hardback will be available to order on November 1.
Blurb:
Liam is in the second grade, and he loves all animals. When he moves to a new town and a new school, his classmates are surprised and curious about his diet. At first, they disapprove, but when they understand his choices, they love and support him.
This book features vibrant illustrations of children and animals. Written with little vegans in mind, the story relays a message of kindness and compassion for children, animals, and the planet. This story may help educators and parents teach empathy for children with less common diets, such as lactose intolerance, kosher, halal, or food allergies. As Liam’s mom explains, “Vegans aren’t silly or wrong; being plant-based makes children healthy and strong.” She adds, “Let’s not tease because diets are personal - and all children long to belong.”
Recommended for ages 3 – 7, but people of all ages may appreciate the message.
No AI was used to write or illustrate this book.
Illustrations created with watercolor and colored pencil on paper. The illustrator, Jonathan Huff, is a fantastic artist and also vegan.
Podcasts
I have a health coaching certificate from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN), and I was a guest speaker on a promotional video. In the interview, I talk about how protecting nature and the body are interconnected. I talk about how this program helped me get Liam the Vegan published. I love IIN and highly recommend this program.
