Enjoy a Margarita

Hello CK Westbrook readers,

It’s National Margarita Day, so why not enjoy some tequila? It’ll warm you up!

In D.C., this has been an unusually cold and extremely intense February. Let’s think about summer, beaches, and margaritas! And there has been much to celebrate this month – the Chinese New Year, Ramadan, Fat Tuesday, and Neptune leaving Pisces.

Book News

I’ve hired an illustrator for Liam the Vegan, and we are making progress. This is my first children’s book, so every step is a learning experience. Watching Jonathan start with an idea, evolve it into drafts, and turn it into my characters is exciting. I can’t wait for this book to be available later this year!

Valentine’s Day lasts all month. You have one more week to purchase a romance novel for 20% off through 4 Horsemen Publications. Feel the love, and read the love, through February!

The information in the files is horrifying, repulsive, violent, sick, and infuriating. Now that the DOJ has dumped them into the public arena, I guess it’s time for social media influencers, the press, and the public to scour them, decide what and who is criminal, and figure out how to get justice. Too bad Congress, the DOJ, and the FBI aren’t doing their jobs.

Looks like Musk has decided the Moon is not a “distraction” on his way to Mars, as he previously stated, but his new priority. He wants a self-growing city on the Moon to use as a laboratory for developing the necessary technology to reach Mars. I think most of us think “no kidding,” right? How on Earth would Musk get to Mars without first learning to live with unbreathable air, extreme cold and heat, and low, tricky gravity?

I wonder how fast Musk will trash the Moon? I wish he thought about self-sustaining rather than self-growing. I really wish he would value Earth and all its glorious ecosystems and use his billions to protect it.

Events:

I will be moderating a panel at Awesome Con in Washington, D.C., in March. The panel title is “Villains and Conflict – How They Influence Fantasy and Sci-Fi.” I love a good villain in fiction. I love a good origin story. Come and join this discussion at the D.C. Convention Center on Saturday, March 14.

The panel will be at 9 pm on Saturday. I fear I will be sleepy, buzzed, or both after a nine-hour day in the artists' alley. Either way, I think it will be funny and entertaining.

Date: Saturday, March 14, 2026

Time: 9:00 pm

Room/Location:  ROOM 207 AB

I will also have a table in the artists' alley. More details soon!

Stay warm. Read a book. Drink a margarita. Smile, spring is coming soon.

P.S.  Should you be interested, below are some books that fall under similar genres to “The Impact Series” – sci-fi, speculative, and suspenseful. Happy reading!

I can’t express my deep gratitude to my readers enough. Thank you for sharing this fantastic adventure with me!
