Booky Call Anyone?

We will get back to the Booky Call soon, but before we dive into the fun stuff, I have some updates and a huge favor to ask.

Things have been action-packed around here. The Judgment was published on March 30, so now the entire Impact Series exists in the world. I could not be more excited!

If you have read any of The Impact Series books, please, please give them a review. Reviews are extremely important. I want many people to read these stories; if you have read them, I think you understand why. To be sure more people know these books exist, they need reviews. They have had many fantastic reviews, but need more.

According to industry experts, book reviews:

1. increase an author’s visibility online – reviews determine SEO (search engine optimization) and Amazon algorithms

2. include keywords to help readers find books

3. recommend your work to other readers, because many readers check reviews before they purchase a book

4. help ensure more diverse books are being written and sold so more voices get heard

Happy Earth Day! If you have read The Impact Series, you know environmental protection is a very important theme. I hope everyone had a chance to celebrate, appreciate and protect nature.

The Judgment was published on March 30. We had a happy hour celebration at a cool skater vegan restaurant/bar in D.C. called sPACYcLOUd. After you read The Judgment, the happy hour will make more sense.

Since the last newsletter, I have run in two ten-mile races (slowly) and celebrated my 22nd wedding anniversary. To honor our marriage success, we dined at Elizabeth’s Gone Raw Vegan Fine Dining | Elizabeth's Gone Raw | Washington (elizabethsgoneraw.com), my new favorite D.C. fancy restaurant.

The books and I spent some time in Florida, doing book signings and other cool activities, including promoting the Endangered Species Act @ 50. (The Endangered Species Act at 50 - The Endangered Species Act at 50 (esa50.org)

With The Impact Series complete and out in the world, I’m now focusing on writing my next sci-fi novel, The Aftermath. It takes place five years after the worldwide mass shooting. What will the world be like? Will it be a dystopian nightmare or paradise? We know for sure there will be an enormous change. The Aftermath will be a stand-alone novel but an extension of The Impact Series. Stay tuned!

I have updated my website and it now includes a books section with a description of each book. I still can’t believe I have had three novels published in a year and now require a “books” section!

I also added an events page so you can check there to see if I will be at events near you. Please email me suggestions for places I can sign books.

I love to meet Impact Series readers in person!

I will be signing books in my hood at the Mount Pleasant Arts and Crafts Market on Sunday, April 30, from 11 am – 5 pm ET. Can’t wait to share The Judgment with friends and neighbors!
